Trust requires a visible method.
Main Street Waco promotes verified PID #1 businesses, retains sources for event and civic facts, labels outside-district draws clearly, and removes stale information from active promotion.
Publication rules
- Official organizers and first-party business sources come first.
- Dates, times, venues, locations, and City Hall claims require retained source evidence.
- AI may extract and classify information but may not invent missing facts.
- Recurring activities stay separate from the significant Events Calendar.
- Event geography is labeled Downtown, Near Downtown, or Waco Draw.
- Corrections, sources, approval dates, and verification dates remain auditable.
Sunday approval gate
- A Weekly draft requires a cover, three-to-five highlights, every editorial section, and a visitor advisory.
- At least three source records must be retained before approval.
- Draft or incomplete editions are never public and cannot replace the last approved issue.
- The latest approved edition becomes the homepage; every approved edition remains in the archive.
Verified Downtown lifecycle
- Within 30 days of a meaningful update, a claimed business receives the Verified Downtown checkmark and full promotional eligibility.
- From day 31 through day 89, the listing remains visible without the checkmark and receives reduced promotional eligibility.
- At 90 inactive days, the record leaves discovery, recommendations, newsletter promotion, and Plan My Experience. The administrative PID record is retained.
- Meaningful activity includes confirming hours, recurring programs, sourced events, access changes, visitor links, profile corrections, or a verification response. An empty login never renews freshness.
- Authenticated weekly owner activity improves recommendation eligibility, but category fit, visitor interests, freshness, and editorial judgment still apply. Activity never guarantees placement.
